厄年は平安時代の書物に記されたのが最初と言われ、江戸時代に広まりました。科学的根拠はなくても、気になる人も多いでしょう。

女性の厄年は、19歳、33歳、37歳、61歳。33歳は「散々」を連想し大厄です。男性は42歳が「死に」を意味し大厄です。女性の30代は既婚、未婚にかかわらず、変化が多い年代です。結婚、妊娠、出産、育児、社会では重要なポストに就くなど、負担も増えます。37歳は徐々に体調の変化を感じ始めます。そのような年廻りのため、精神、体調とともに気をつけましょうという意味で、厄払いをするのです。

誕生石などの宝石を身につけて、お守りにすることもよいでしょう。宝石は昔はお守りとしての意味合いが濃厚でした。中世のヨーロッパでは、軍人はガーネットを装着すると怪我をせず無事に帰還できると信じられていました。サンゴやルビーは女性のお守りとして古くから活用されています。英国王室では、王女の成長を見守るためにベビーベッドにサンゴのアクセサリーを飾るとか。ルビーは「宝石の女王」と呼ばれますが、30歳のプレゼントに娘にルビーを贈る家庭もあります。

30代は女性が最も美しく、活躍できる時期です。キャリアもある程度積んで、応用がきくようになり、ファッションも自分らしいスタイルが出来上がり、似合うものがわかってきます。肌の調子も20代の頃よりも整ってきます。長年現役の女優たちを見ていると、10代、20代の頃よりも30代のほうがすてきな人が多いと思いませんか。健やかな30代は、大人の美しさを高める40代、50代への土台です。
